Got a home bar? Then set-up a Garden Gizmo Little Sun filled with a variety of mints to use in cocktails all year round. Sounds like a dream come true, right?
The variety of different flavoured mints available is mind-boggling and pretty much only limited by what you can get your hands on: Peppermint, spearmint, lime mint, chocolate mint, apple mint, basil mint, ginger mint, Moroccan tea mint, pineapple mint. I could go on but you get the idea...
Watch this space for our upcoming Cocktail seed mix.
In the meantime you need to whip up one of these babies:
The Real Mojito for 1.
Ingredients
- 10 mint leaves (we love lime mint but use your favourite variety)
- ½ a lime, cut into 4 wedges
- 2 tablespoons of sugar of choice (we use raw sugar)
- 1 cup of ice (cubes or crushed)
- 1 shot of white rum
- 1/2 cup club soda
Method
Place mint leaves and 1 lime wedge into a sturdy glass. Use a muddler to crush the mint and lime to release the mint oils and lime juice. Add 2 more lime wedges and the sugar, and muddle again to release the lime juice. Fill the same glass almost to the top with ice. Pour the rum over the ice, then top-up the glass with soda water. Stir, taste, and add more sugar if desired. Garnish with the remaining lime wedge. Drink. Repeat.
Bring a little sun inside.
